An international insurance business is seeking to recruit an experienced underwriting professional to support regional management with performance of the corporate insurance portfolio in the Midlands.

A Rated, this insurer is financially strong, allowing continued growth in the UK market place.

The Role

You will manage the regional account, made up of big-ticket, complex (often bespoke) insurance programmes trading with the Midlands markets largest broking firms.
As part of the management team, you will contribute to the underwriting strategy and success ensuring performance is above target with respect to both premium and loss ratios.
This key role within the team will act as technical expert and referral point for the branch, supporting an expanding team with complex cases as well as holding the underwriting authority to make realtime, commercial decisions.
You will also contribute to upskilling the regional office through training and development.

You

You will be an experienced underwriting professional with outstanding knowledge around corporate property and casualty business, able to talk and advice with credibility to brokers, clients and your peers.
You will demonstrate a background of portfolio underwriting, preferably gained in a role where you have managed an account to profitable growth.
You will be comfortable taking responsibility for the account performance against financial ad technical targets.
Strong negotiation, communication and people skills are also essential for interaction with your team and influencing the broker panel.
ACII qualification is preferred, but not essential.
