Role: Graduate Actuarial Analyst
Salary: GBP30,000 - GBP32,000
Job type: Permanent
South East London / Kent

A great opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Actuarial Analyst to join an established financial services software development company. The Actuarial Analyst will be involved in the development and testing of the calculations for several FS Products. Working closely alongside the Product team, the role entails delivering software solutions to our clients, in collaboration with other Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers to ensure that the agreed business requirements are met.

Undertake software and calculation configuration activities using our clients in-house software packages
Maintain and update calculation system owned by the team
Work with a team of experienced developers and analyst towards successful implementation of actuarial processes
Understand business requirements to define configuration changes and verifying the success of changes through various testing activities
Translate calculation requirements into system change specifications for use by development teams
Using SQL/Excel to prove changes have been developed to spec
Support clients through the lifecycle of the teams activities including design, build, test and implementation
Provide actuarial input for companywide projects, driven by IT & Change or internally, impacting on the existing book of business, including the specification, development and implementation of solutions

Key Technical Skills Required
Educated to degree level in a computing / analytical / statistical / mathematical discipline or relevant experience
MUST HAVE A Level Mathematics Grade A* - A
Keen to pursue Actuarial Science
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical mindTechnical Skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tool suite including latest versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of MS SQL
Personal Skills
Enthusiastic with excellent problem-solving skills
Showing initiative / self-motivated to get the job done and improve practices
Great interpersonal skills - ability to converse with both internal and external customers
Excellent written and verbal communication
Helpful and friendly, thriving in front of a challenge with a strong desire to succeed
