Working for a major global insurance provider, this role offers the gateway to a career within commercial underwriting and will suit either an insurance professional from another area of the market, or an ambitious individual at the start of their career.

Youll be working to support an established team with a strong market reputation whilst learning all aspects of the underwriting process and working towards gaining your own licence and authority.

The Role

Working with senior colleagues on property and liability cases, your role will initially be to provide administrative, operational and process support whilst learning about all matters related to the underwriting function.
This will include processing new and existing cases, liaising with colleagues across surveying, claims and sales to ensure smooth service is provided to client and supporting brokers. You will also cover credit control, MI, reports, contracts and documentation.
The medium terms plan will be to work towards your own underwriting authority and ownership of an allocated caseload - the business will train and develop you in a structured manner so that you are equipped to profitably asses and underwrite business.


You

You will be an ambitious individual seeking a career in commercial insurance underwriting; you may be in the market currently in a broker, claims or sales role, or perhaps looking to move into insurance as fresh start.
Youll be well organised and have a strong attention to detail plus a diligent approach to work and be prepared to put the graft in whilst you learn the ropes.
Youll require a minimum of 7 A-C GCSEs (including Maths & English), whilst an interest in studying towards vocational and professional qualifications is a plus.
