PURPOSE OF ROLE 

We are seeking a skilled Technical Underwriter to join a leading insurance firm. This role involves assessing complex risks, developing underwriting strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to make data-driven underwriting decisions that support business growth.

DAY-TO-DAY 

• Review and underwrite complex risks following company guidelines
• Analyse data and market trends to create competitive underwriting solutions
• Work closely with brokers, clients, and internal teams to manage risk placement
• Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices
• Help develop underwriting guidelines and contribute to product improvements
• Provide technical support to junior underwriters and colleagues

SKILLS 

• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
• Clear communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to interpret data and market trends
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
• Experience with underwriting software and digital tools 

EXPERIENCE 

• Knowledge of underwriting principles, regulations, and market trends
• Experience working with brokers and clients to tailor underwriting solutions
• Familiarity with digital underwriting tools and data-driven decision-making
