    Title: Trading Underwriter
    Location: Dublin
    Salary: £45,000 – £50,000


    Overview:

    We are currently seeking a Trading Underwriter to join a growing team within a dynamic and fast-paced insurance environment. This role involves evaluating risks and exposures for new business, mid-term adjustments, and renewals. You will focus on quoting, converting, and retaining business across a range of specialist home insurance products, while delivering excellent service to broker partners.

     


    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Underwrite business in line with internal underwriting guidelines and within delegated authority levels
    • Trade effectively with brokers to maximise conversion and retention
    • Provide regular reporting to your Line Manager
    • Manage and control renewals, new business, and existing business tasks
    • Handle underwriting referrals from other team members or offices when required
    • Support and drive key performance targets, including income, conversion, and retention
    • Contribute to the development and enhancement of both new and existing insurance products
    • Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries from brokers, insurers, and third parties
    • Ensure that underwriting decisions are aligned with the best interests of capacity providers

    Experience & Qualifications:

     

    • Minimum Leaving Certificate standard
    • APA qualification in insurance required (working towards CIP is preferred)
    • Strong background in household underwriting, ideally within an MGA, insurance company, or Lloyd’s syndicate
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), along with strong sales, negotiation, analytical, and IT skills
    • Previous experience within an MGA environment is highly advantageous
