Development Underwriter

Job Title – Development Underwriter
Contract – Permanent
Salary – GBP45,000 – GBP65,000
Location – Birmingham
Industry – Insurance (underwriting, insurance, commercial) 

The Role:

This role will be responsible for finding, developing and growing new business opportunities within the region. The role will involve developing a close business relationship with a number of partner brokers to deliver a great service to them, and then ultimately the mutual profitable growth of our business together.

Key Responsibilities:

Underwriting various new business cases including Property, Liability and PI
Develop and enhance external broker relationships
Deliver profitable growth across your broker panel
Create new broker relationships within the region
Deliver great client service in line with the companies values
Handle scheme referrals as well as underwriting the larger new and existing business cases

Key Skills:

At least 3 years commercial underwriting experience ideally handling large and complex risks
Ideally be working towards or have ACII qualification
Confident selling and trading
Good relationship building experience
High attention to detail
Target driven and forward thinking
