An opportunity to work for a highly regarded Insurance provider as a Senior Commercial Underwriter has arisen, they are seeking an individual to work within the Birmingham Underwriting team dealing with various commercial cases from a designated panel of Midlands brokers.

The Role:

Underwrite new and existing business profitably, accurately and in line with established Underwriting practice.
Maintain and develop business relationships with brokers and intermediaries.
Work collaboratively with other parts of the organisation.
Underwrite various commercial policies from presentation including commercial combined and property owners.
Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met
Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency

Requirements:

Strong experience and understanding of commercial insurance underwriting
Cert CII qualified preferred
The ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise
Excellent IT, communication, organisation and negotiation skills
Working knowledge of FSA rules and guidelines.
Enthusiastic, team player with a positive attitude
