Commercial Underwriter

Job Title -Commercial Underwriter
Contract – Permanent
Salary – Up to GBP40,000 DOE
Location – Essex
Industry – Insurance (underwriting, insurance, commercial) 

The Role:

This role will be responsible for managing and underwriting existing business accounts within the region. The role will involve developing a close business relationship with a number of partner brokers to deliver a great service to them, and then ultimately the mutual profitable growth of our business together.

Key Responsibilities:

Underwriting various existing business cases including Property, Liability, Cyber, D&O and PI
Develop and enhance external broker relationships
Work closely with regional branches to ensure the business is being handled correctly
Negotiate terms with internal and external parties
Work towards set targets to ensure profitability and conversion

Key Skills:

At least 2-3 years commercial insurance experience either in a brokerage, insurer or MGA
Good understanding of commercial insurance products
Confident selling and trading
Good relationship building experience
High attention to detail
Target driven and forward thinking
