Global Financial Services client is looking to expand their Development team, you will be part of a team of 20 in software development working on Insurance products.

This is a hybrid role where you can work from home and come into the office 2/3 times a month.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake programming tasks of designing, prototyping, coding and testing
• Translate internal business requirements into technical requirements, in conjunction with specialist business analysts
• Apply quality and performance design principals always bearing in mind the needs of the users
• Provide support and technical advice to other developers, testers and business analysts
• Provide succinct updates on progress to the Project Managers and Head of TPA Systems and to contribute with creative programmatic solutions as appropriate
• Be able to give accurate estimates for the time required for creation of database code and then deliver accordingly

• At least 5 years in-depth experience as a Database Analyst Programmer using the technologies highlighted in the Functional Knowledge section
• Background in programming fundamentals
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience of working with colleagues based over several sites

Functional Knowledge:

Essential

• Advanded T-SQL (stored procedures, functions, triggers, complex queries) on MS SQL Server 2014 or above
• Query Optimisation Techniques
• Integration Services
• Database Design and Normalisation

Desirable

• Service Broker
• XQuery
• Reporting Services
• SQL Server Security
• Database Replication
• Database Administration
