Job Title – Subsidence Repair Manager (Claims & Adjusting)
Contract – Permanent
Salary – £38,000 – £43,000
Location – South East
In partnership with your Subsidence colleagues, you’ll pro-actively manage the repair phase of subsidence claims to ensure a swift settlement for the policyholder. We’re flexible on whether you prefer to be home or office based, with regular UK travel, and occasional overnight stays – however more frequent travel and regular overnight stays may be required during peak demand.
You’ll be working in partnership with our field based Subsidence Specialist and Desk Based Claims handlers at the repair phase of the Subsidence Claim.
Your area of expertise will ensure that the performance of contractors is within specific timescales, of good quality and that the subsidence claims progresses efficiently and fairly to support our customers, partners and our insurance clients brand and values.
Through reviewing the claims pack information, you’ll understand the scope of repairs on site and set a strategy for completion understanding each individual demand and likely outcome. This could include all planning, Building Regulations, Party Wall and CDM issues are addressed, preparation of initial appraisal reports with cost recommendations and schedule/specifications.
Any pre-contract meetings and contract supervision will be within your remit, ensuring that a high standard of records are kept of meetings, inspections and discussions which have taken place.
It’s essential that you’ll remove all barriers and ensure the repair phase is personally handled, maintaining contact and communicating progression to all parties until completion of repairs have taken place.
We’re looking for an experienced Repair Manager or someone with a similar background, ideally specialising in Subsidence. You’ll be a technical expert, a go to person who enjoys problem solving technical problems with buildings and structures. You’ll also have/be:
Experienced in dealing with the repair schedules of damaged buildings
Ideally chartered or approaching chartered status with a relevant institution: ICE, IStructE, RICS, CIOB whoever those with solid and proven repair experience will also be considered
Able to demonstrate a decisive approach
Computer literate with most Microsoft packages
Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of domestic construction
Knowledgeable with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, third party wall and H&S essential
Full UK Driving License
