Job Title – Broker – Public Sector Specialist – EMEA
Contract – Permanent
Salary – £70 000
Location – London
We are looking for a Broker – Associate I (Public Sector (PS) Specialist) who will help shape and develop our clients footprint across Europe, Middle East and Africa. This is an exceptional and interesting position within a specialist area of the business that requires someone to support the client relationships across a range of institutions such as government, academia and NGO entities to further the business and to raise corporate profile.
You will joining an expanding team and take on the responsibility of identifying and capitalising on emerging growth opportunities across the regions. At the forefront and leading on some of the major topics shaping society such as climate change, environmental affairs, terrorism and disaster risk management. This role will allow you to grow and develop your career, whilst allowing you will play a pivotal part within our team and the wider business.

We will rely on you to:
- Create and maintain relationships within the business, with insurance markets and with clients to provide a cohesive client service.
- Service both renewals and new business from the initial enquiry through to the handing over of the completed placing slip.
- Support client advisory and direct engagement.
- Where necessary, educate local account teams about PS business, developments and opportunities across the region.
- Research trends in emerging issues such as evolving perils, climate resilience, political violence and cyber-attacks, amongst other topics, and provide topical insight to brokers and clients. Disseminate knowledge and information to account teams to help account teams defend existing PS clients and grow our current PS market share across EMEA.
- Write white papers and marketing material to demonstrate subject matter authority and generate business opportunities, ensuring best-in-class quality content about expertise in the PS arena.
- Assist in developing and running round-tables and conferences to highlight our leadership role on a range of topics.
- Database development and management – ensure existing databases are kept up-to- date and enhance data management across the regional and global PS team to support benchmarking exercises, placement, client retention and our ability to respond to tenders.
What you need to have:
- Technical broking expertise and strong organisational skills.
- Experienced reinsurance broker to support the handling and growth of existing PS accounts as well as new business.
- Capability to produce high quality written material for use in public domain.
- Excellent excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, database management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines is essential. What makes you stand out:
– Demonstrative expertise in climate policy, environmental affairs, disaster risk management.
– Extensive network in public policy, government, multi-lateral organisations, academia.
– Understanding of Government PS policy and experience of municipality insurance purchasing requirements.
– Background in international relations/ government affairs.
– Familiarity with EU Public Procurement guidelines.
– Fluency in second language would be advantageous.
