Senior Claims Adjuster – International Casualty

A market leading insurance company is currently seeking an experienced Senior Claims Adjuster/Handler to join their well-established market leading International Casualty team to perform claims handling and claims related administration.

This position is ideal for someone with proven experience as a market leader and thought leader working within the claims leadership of a dynamic and high performing syndicate.

Duties and accountabilities

• Perform claims adjusting in accordance with the companies Claims Commitment, philosophy and procedures.
• Provide the lead claims handling resource in the specific class of business of International Casualty and for which claims authority has been agreed with the Head of Claims
• Contribute to the claims leadership team and provide resource and input to claims from all classes.
• Ensure the Syndicate meets internal and external standards for claims handling and customer service in particular by ensuring ECF and paper file turnaround times are met.
• Manage end to end claims processes through the use of Syndicate systems such as DOCOsoft workflow.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients and brokers and third party experts.
• Liaise with underwriters to maintain a valuable flow of information on claims issues and their impact on underwriting and policy interpretation.
• Actively manage loss adjusters and other experts to ensure that claims and expert fees are managed appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain strong communication and advise the head of department on any relevant claims movements/issues/trends.
• Undertake any other claims related and ad hoc tasks/projects as required by the business.          

Skills,experience and Knowledge 

• Demonstrable claims background within International Casualty is essential.
• Part ACII qualified or working towards ACII.
• Technically sound claims knowledge.
• Working knowledge of London market claims systems (ECF).
• Proficient in Word/Excel and similar applications in order to report on claims information to underwriters and other members of the claims team.
• Team player with a positive and flexible attitude to change and development alongside achieving team objectives.
• Excellent, well-structured written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively and accurately to deliver results against tight deadlines.
• Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills.
