    Job Title – Claims Executive – Construction Works & Liability
    Contract – Permanent

    We have a new opening within the Construction and Infrastructure Practice, where hundreds of colleagues service all aspects of the sector both in the UK and overseas. We are welcoming applicants who are seeking a challenging and rewarding career as a Claims Executive in the Annuals and Projects sector team, dealing with contract works and third- party liability claims on behalf of our Contractor and Owner & Developer clients.

     

    This client facing role is located in Birmingham with flexible working options available. We will also consider candidates based in London, Norwich or the South East.

     

    You will join a dedicated international team of 40 claims professionals who work together to continuously deliver successful outcomes for our clients.

     

    Our client base includes the world’s leading construction and engineering companies as well as the world’s largest industrial groups who are looking to expand or improve their portfolio of operational assets.

    The Role: Claims Executive – Construction Works & Liability

    • Servicing our clients’ needs in relation to their claims arising under their construction related insurance covers in conjunction with claims colleagues in our client service teams;

     


    To handle a portfolio of complex claims including but not limited to:

    • Identification of appropriate policy coverage on complex issues and analysis of notifications against the same in order to best assist clients in managing risk exposure;
    • Provision of claims strategy advice, driving the claims process for clients, with supervision where required, including client claim review meetings, liaison with the insurance market and participation in active claim strategy discussion in order to manage the claims process from notification to closure;

     

    Interacting with insurers and their professional advisors on complex claims queries and policy coverage discussions in order to ensure smooth review of claims for clients; Assessment of application of data, such as loss statistics, key trends, cost reduction opportunities and other data in order to support recommendations to manage and minimise the client’s total cost of risk; Provision of feedback to Claims Management and close interaction with Client Executive, Claims Advocacy and Claims Advisor colleagues including coaching and mentoring other team members where required.

     

    Liaison with the Operations team regarding claims processing and client feedback, escalate issues where appropriate and oversee designated key risk areas to facilitate smooth functioning of the claims process;

    What you need to have:

    • At least 5 – 10 years’ experience in Construction/Commercial property claims
    • A desire to progress your career and work in complex claims management and advocacy in a client facing role as part of a full service team
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Negotiation and persuasive negotiation skills
    • Proficient with the usual Microsoft Office software packages
    • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
    • Ambition to succeed within a team environment
