Senior Underwriter – P&C

Job Title -Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter
Contract – Permanent

Salary -£50,000

Location – Chelmsford

What would you be responsible for in this role?

• Support profitable development of the Mid-Market Commercial Combined account by underwriting bespoke Commercial Combined risks that align to the their strategy and appetite with a key focus on Renewals & MTAs, whilst also underwriting new business (less frequently)
• Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with a panel of South brokers as their nominated underwriter.
• Develop and support the companies commercial lines account by engaging and encouraging new and existing relationships with regional brokers.
• Prospect and actively contribute to the growth targets of the team optimizing sales and retention.
• Maintain an accurate audit trail using the companies Insurance’s systems, practices, and procedures.
• Underwrite within the companies strategy and authority limits and refer all cases outside of strategy or individual limits.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of: The commercial lines market, The regional broking marketplace, and Legislation and litigation which could affect the writing of business.

• Experience in underwriting and trading mid-market Commercial Combined products, plus Real Estate as nice to have.
• A detailed knowledge of the South / East broker market
• Minimum Dip CII or progress towards is preferred.
