Job Title – Commercial Underwriter – SME

Contract – Permanent

Salary – £35,000 – £40,000

Location – Brierley Hill, West Midlands

We are currently working with a well known insurance provider who, due to growth, are expanding their underwriting team. They are looking for underwriters who will be responsible for underwriting various commercial cases, dealing with broker referrals and maintaining and developing broker relationships.

Responsibilities include:

• You will be a point of contact for our broker partners and deliver exceptional customer service as part of our existing business teams. You will underwrite and produce renewal terms or mid-term adjustments within the underwriting appetite of our Insurer partners
• Be a team player and contribute to the growth and retention strategy targets by negotiating terms and securing renewals, whilst working within your personal licence authority and binder agreements
• Take ownership of your work, prioritise, meet deadlines, ensure you follow the processes in place whilst constantly looking for opportunities to improve the customer journey
• Develop your own skills and knowledge as well as embracing the technical and soft skills coaching and training we will provide throughout your career with us

Requirements:

• Underwriting experience is essential (from an insurer or an MGA)
• Have a good understanding of the liability market
• Excellent management skills
• Excellent organisation skills
• Excellent relationship management
• Excellent communication skills
