The Company:

Our client a expanding UK Insurance company has an exciting opportunity that has evolved for an experienced Motor Underwriter to work with them in their Motor team based in Essex.
The organisation have been through a period of review and internal development and as such require a seasoned individuals to play a key part in ensuring long term profitability and stability to the Underwriting function. As an organisation specifically focused to the Motor industry, this opportunity offers experienced Underwriting individuals the chance to become integral members of an expanding and growing team.

Role Requirements & Duties:

This role will involve working closely with the Underwriting Manager and Class Underwriter supporting them with the following tasks:
Private Car/Motor Account performance monitoring
Report writing
Rate/product maintenance & testing
Monitoring and reporting on the Private Motor market place
Individual case underwriting

Candidate Skills and Competencies:

Good understanding of the UK Motor market and their challenges
Previous Underwriting experience
High level of competency in the use of MS office – particularly Word & Excel
Relevant technical experience in the Classes of Business
Strong experience in executing risk selection and pricing strategies
Strong leadership skills including the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of people
Must be a team player, willing to take ownership of customer/broker issues and provide support to staff members.
