Job Title: Portfolio Manager 

Location: London 

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Salary: £87,000 per annum + Bonus

The role: 

Lawes Consulting Group are currently working with one of the Top 10 Lloyds Syndicates who are recruiting for a Portfolio Manager for their office in the city of London. 

Responsibilities: 

• Working closely with head of portfolio management and Senior portfolio managers to build management strategy. 
• Manage a team of analysts to proactively improve underwriting performance.
• Working on various commercial lines. 
• Propose actions and assist with decision making. 
• Build portfolio underwriting toolkit. 
• Prepare materials for capital partners as required
• Monitor claims and market environment to ensure our client are continuing to target the most profitable business and staying abreast of changing market conditions
• Oversee the monitoring of broker behaviour for signs of anti-selection and market dynamics, ensuring effective feedback loops are in place to mitigate anti-selection.

Experience & Capabilities:

• Degree in a numerate subject
• Strong analytic skills either qualified actuary OR significant experience in technical underwriting.
• Have a strong grasp of actuarial, aggregation and/or portfolio management techniques
• Ability to manage projects and the future pipeline of work
• Proven ability and track record of decision making skills. 
• Computer literature
